Tellu Cosplayer - Sailor Moon Anime Series, Youmacon 2009, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Dearborn, MI

A Big Hello to all of my fans. It's hard to believe that I have been on Deviant Art for 10 years now!! My Cosplay journey started at my first Anime / Cosplay convention Youmacon 2009. At that convention I wore my first Cosplay Outfit and everything at the con was so magical that I knew that I was in the right place. That day I wore my Science Star Trek Outfit. Being a photographer I took my camera as well. I met a lot of people who wanted to take a photo of me. I was honored and surprised. Then I started to make deals where they took a photo of me and I would then take a photo of them. That day a new Semi-Professional Cosplay Photographer was born.

In 2012 I joined Deviant Art and explored it. I was very impressed then and now. Credit goes to everyone who keeps this wonderful website going. As time went on I created the Profile that you see today and started to post my Cosplay photos. I soon got views and fans from around the World. I can not thank everyone enough for your support and especially for liking the cosplayer photos that I shared. Both Deviant Art and my fans gave me the encouragement to take more photos.

My art is a combination of two things, my photography, and the wonderful Cosplayers who posed for me. Many thanks goes to the Cosplayers as well. I have enjoyed talking to them about their outfits, the characters they represented, and the Anime series. Later on Super Heros, TV series, Movie characters and many more Genre Cosplayers added their talents and Cosplays to the conventions. It's been a great joy sharing so much with all of my fans and of those who just browse my page. It's been a while since I have added any new photos. So I wait until the day that I can go to conventions again and do one of the things that I enjoy most, take Cosplayer Photos!!

Take Care Everyone,

Ron Cauvin

7 Years!!

Greetings to all of my fans,

It's hard to believe that I have been on Deviant Art for over 7 years now. I have been to 15 Conventions and met many Wonderful Cosplayers at all of them. As always the skill level of the Cosplayer is not what's most important to me it's their Devotion and Love of the character that they are portraying. Seeing Cosplayers in character is a true joy and adds to the fun. If you look for it the Magic of Cosplay is in the air at all of these Anime / Cosplay conventions.

I started out taking photos of mostly Anime Cosplayers. Now I also take photos of Video Game Cosplay characters and Disney related Cosplay characters. Many thanks goes to all of the Cosplayers who pose for me. Even if it's just a quick shot or two it's an honor to meet all of them. This year I'm going to be trying out a brand new Camera. The one that I have had for the last 9 years has served me well.

As always I plan on going to Youmacon in Downtown Detroit. This year they will be celebrating 15 years. I'm curious as to what they have in store. At Youmacon 2018 I had the honor to meet Voice Actresses Erica Schroeder and Cherami Leigh!! Erica does the voice for two of my favorite characters - Dark Magician Girl (Yu-Gi-Oh!) and Nurse Joy (Pokemon). It was a true delight to meet Cherami Leigh. I lost count years ago of how many of my favorite characters that she has done the voices for. The top characters are: Lucy Heartfilia (Fairy Tail), Asuna Yuuki (Sword Art Online), Patty Thompson (Soul Eater), Ayano (Kaze no Stigma), and especially Sailor Venus (Sailor Moon - New English Dub on Blu-Ray).

When it was my time to get an autograph from Cherami I had a special surprise for her. I gave her my Sailor Venus Transformation Rod Prop. She was really surprised when I pushed the Transformation Rod towards her. Cherami was getting ready to sign it's box and when I said it's for you she got really excited and in Sailor Venus's voice she spoke loudly for everyone to hear, "For Me!!". My gift to her was in tribute and thanks for all of the work that she has done over the years for all of the life that she has put into so many Anime Characters.

Their are a lot of different things that go into creating a character. Thanks goes out to all of the Artists, Voice Actors / Voice Actresses, and writers who help these characters come to life. Cosplaying one of those characters is a tribute to the work of all of those people. My part in the Magic of Cosplay is taking photos of Cosplayers and then sharing the results of my work with all of you. Stay tuned for more of my work.

Greetings Fellow Deviants, My Fans, and My Watchers,

I have been a part of this wonderful Website for 5 years now. It's true that I'm not as active as I would like but I still am dedicated to keeping this account open. Over the years I have submitted over 400 Cosplay Photos to my Gallery to share with everyone. :) They stand as a tribute to more talented Cosplayers than I can count. Every year I go to at least one Anime / Cosplay convention and have the privilege to take more photos of Cosplayers who show off their wonderful Cosplay outfits. Each and every Cosplayer shows off their Cosplay Outfits of characters that they Love. I enjoy taking photos of the Cosplayers and their outfits no matter the level of their skill. Often I talk to them about either their outfits or the series that their characters are from. Many of my new Anime series that I get interested in is from taking photos of the characters from them. I get excited when I see a character that I don't recognize and ask who the character is and what series the character is from. Due to that one of my new all time favorite anime series is Fairy Tail. My Love of Sailor Moon has grown in leaps and bounds. I now own a lot of Sailor Moon figures, Sailor Moon Crystal Blu Rays, and the Original Sailor Moon series Blu Rays.

On the internet in general I spend some time on my Facebook Photography Page - Smithers456Photography and a lot of time on a special website called Gaia Online. You can find my Gaia Online Profile at Smithers456 Gaia Online and go to a Very Special Guild called the "Anime Conventions: The Global Connection Guild" which is listed on my Profile Page. I'm now the Captain of that Guild which is celebrating it's 10th Anniversary this Month. On that Guild we talk about Otaku, Anime, Manga, Cosplay, Conventions, Cosplay Outfits, and so much more. My crew and I have put a lot of work into the Guild so that we can help others with their questions and a lot of info especially on Cosplay outfits to check out. We have members from all over the World which I think is pretty awesome. If you have trouble getting on my Gaia Online Profile Page you may have to become a member of the website first. Go to Gaia Online for more info.

I do plan on updating this page as time goes on. Stay tuned.

Take Care,
Ron

PS - Thanks for all of the Birthday wishes for me last year on Halloween.

I'm Still Here

Greetings Fellow Deviants,

I realize that I haven't posted a lot of new Cosplay Photos for a long time. I thank all of my watchers and especially fans of my work who have stuck around patiently waiting for me to share more of my work. I do have more photos to share from both the Youmacon 2014 and Youmacon 2015 conventions. I'm still here on Deviant Art and I have no intention to end my account. Please continue to be patient and I will do my best to post more Cosplay photos in the near future. Both work constraints and having an old computer have made it harder to post more regularly.

I also watch a lot of fellow deviants and groups. As time permits I will be checking out the awesome artwork and photos of other artists. I hope that this year will show the world that art does still matter and the diversity of this website shows off some of the best work out their.

Take Care,
Ron

Hello Everyone,

I wish everyone a wonderful Holiday Season no matter which Holiday you celebrate. Due to circumstances beyond my control I have been away for most of this year. I will be trying harder to be on Deviant Art every now and then.

I do have some photos that I took at Youmacon 2015 in Downtown Detroit on my birthday, Halloween, October 31st, to share with you. In the photos their is a mini photoshoot that I did of a lovely young lady who was cosplaying Queen Serenity from the Sailor Moon series. I thank "Kyari" for taking time out of her special day. Kyari was married earlier on that day and then both she and her husband dressed up as Queen Serenity and Tuxedo Mask. The wedding ceremony was a simple non Cosplay one. They decided to spend their Honeymoon at Youmacon 2015 which I think is really cool. I'm in some of the photos dressed up in my Syaoran Cosplay outfit from the "Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle" Anime series.

I also do have photos from past conventions to share as well. Please be patient a little longer. A lot of my time during this past year was spent helping to run an Anime, Manga, Cosplay, Convention, and Otaku Guild. This Guild which is called "Anime Conventions: The Global Connection" Guild is on a website called Gaia Online. The link for the website is www.gaiaonline.com. I believe that you need to be a member of the website to view it. If you are on Gaia Online already you can check out my profile page at www.gaiaonline.com/profiles/sm…

It's been one of my great joys to help run the Guild mentioned above. I'm a Vice Captain of the Guild and I have a hand picked Crew that have specialties that range from Cosplay Outfit making to knowledge of old and new Anime / Manga series. The Guild has several hundred members and we act as a guide, info source, and the place to get help for any of your needs. If you are able to check out and even join Gaia Online at first glance it may seem "cutesy" but their are a lot of Guilds and Members of the website who are on this website and many others like Facebook. If you do join look me up after creating your Profile page. One of the first things that you get to do is dress up an Avatar using virtual items that you can earn or buy.

I have put my heart and soul into this special Guild and have greatly expanded my knowledge of the Cosplay Culture and what it is to be an Otaku. I have showcased many of my Cosplay Photography photos on various threads in this Forum based Guild. Being on the Gaia Online Website has been a growth period for me. For the last few years I focused on my Cosplay Photography. Now I have reached out to Otaku fans from all over the World and I feel that I have added something to the Cosplay Culture community. It's an honor to help run our Guilds little corner of a much larger World Wide Cosplay Culture community.

Stay tuned and I'm thankful for any of my fans that have been patient with me.

Take Care,
Ron (Smithers456)
